Secure Care NI is a business with people at its Heart. The company assists those who need a little extra help or friendship in their daily life offering support, helping in the completion of daily tasks and above all building a community.
Business Idea
Cathy McKay and Sandra Smith previously worked in hospitality and community care roles before the opportunity to start their own business came about.
Cathy commented:
“We had been working with another provider when they decided to stop trading so the opportunity to start our own business and assist clients we had build relationships with arose. We embraced the challenge and set up our own company providing one to one care for vulnerable adults and pensioners primarily”
Business Growth
Starting with 21 clients, within 6 months this has increased to 39 with additional staff taken on board to manage the workload. The business is thriving, continuing to take on new clients and grow.
Why Secure Care NI?
Service at its Heart
Secure Care NI is about personal service. They ensure each client is seen by the same care provider each time so they can build a relationship of trust and understanding.
Range of Services
Call outs are a minimum of 1 hour and can involve whatever the individual requires – social activities, shopping, hospital visits, appointments or even trips away. Communication is vital for Secure Care NI and building relationships with clients.
Go For It Programme
“The Go For It prgramme has really helped us in setting up our business. The plan has been great in giving us direction but further than that the mentoring support given to us by Nicole has been invaluable.
We had no business knowledge before starting on this journey but Nicole has assisted us along the way from financials including setting up bank accounts through to IT assistance and idea generation.”
Business Future
Sandra and Cathy are busy continuing to grow their company but they are also looking to the future.
“Ultimately, we would love to be in a position to have a strong dedicated team who we manage. Of course keeping a few clients of our own but empowering and leading a team.
We would also like to build the companies offering in the future and providing a training structure to the team to upskill them in things like first aid. Plus of course increasing our company’s service offering along the way”
