The Ortus Group have once again partnered with the West Belfast Partnership Board in supporting young students in their further education.

Now in its 24th year the Aisling Bursaries have supported over 1000 students with bursaries to help them access further and higher education or vocational training. This year 147 students received support through the scheme celebrated by an event in St Mary’s University College Belfast.

This year, The Ortus Group provided the Harry Coll Memorial award plus three additional bursaries for students. For Ortus, the funds provide valuable opportunities to those within the community to grow and reach their potential. The group is commited to helping individuals achieve their goals and the Aisling Bursaries are an essential platform for young people in West Belfast.

Ortus CEO, Seamus O’Prey, commenting on supporting the Aisling Bursaries:

“One of our core aims as a social enterprise is social and economic regeneration. By supporting the Aisling Bursaries, we are enabling the future leaders within our communities to access further education and achieve their goals. The bursaries are offered as part of our Charity Initiative, giving back to the local community through sponsorship and resources, and we are delighted to once again provide support to local students. Year on year the awards continue to grow which is a testament to the hard-working team at West Belfast Partnership Board who raised £87,000 this year.

Over the years, we have been thrilled to hear how the recipients of the Aisling Bursaries have progressed into a wide range of roles, supporting the local economy and making positive changes. We wish this year’s students every success as they start their new journeys”
